Class Reflection

How has communicating digital versus communicating in analog style affect my live is that it is much easier to send a message to someone within seconds instead of writing letters that would spend days to get to a person. My experience in class today made me realize how much I would rather text than write out letters, because letters are time consuming and the require more information you would need to text. A text only requires a name and a number whereas a letter requires a shipping address, return address, name, city, stamp, etc.

    The article "Everything Science Knows About Reading on Screens", talks about how there is a difference between reading on a screen vs reading on paper. Researcher said the way we on screen is called “nonlinear” reading or basically skimming which is not good technique for reading on paper. This type of reading makes it difficult for deep reading because deep reading requires more focus to understand what you are reading. The main difference between screen reading and on paper reading is that on paper reading you get a more feel for what you are reading versus looking at into a light and skimming through what you are reading.

Reading in a a whole new way - This article is comparing and contrasting on screen reading and paper reading. It mainly discusses how the times changed with reading and writing from ancient times to present day.
